I’m seriously agree with a campaign of boycott Israel products. If we can’t boycott all product/service, then boycott some of them. As we know, 1000 mile journey begin with first step. If we have humanities sense, then whatever happen to Palestine people, will affect us no matter it is political or economic. We always look for the objective and effectiveness but in reality, there might be complicated and we do not know what will happen next. By the way, we must keep doing but leave the result to Allah.
I also agree that the time has come for widespread boycott of the state of Israel. and that we should encourage adoption of the boycott by people all over the world regardless of their religion. I believe more time should be spent on the details of such as campaign. By boycott their products, will help reduce Israel oppression, insYaAllah perhaps former student leaders of the movements that successfully boycotted, a campaign that took decades to succeed, should be consulted their insights may also help devise the best strategy.
Besides, average citizens could participate in a humanitarian-boycott campaign against Israel treatment of Palestinians by boycotting products made or assembles in Israel and those made and assembled using Israel components. That boycott could be gradually escalated or could immediately include companies which send a certain percentage of their profits to Israel. Also constituents can demand from their elected and appointed leaders that they acknowledge publicly the wrongness of Israel actions. No government more unilaterally and substantively supports Israel than the United States.
Those of you who say something to the effect our economy being dependent on the US have got to be kidding. The American economy is in shambles, the US dollar is not backed by any commodity and is in fact consisting of worthless pieces of paper. Boycott American products especially at this time would be the wake up call they need. Besides the above entioned reasons there are also other much bigger and better nations we can do business with, for example China. While choice was limited before, the origin of goods tend to be much more diverse now. Choices exist. Exercise them and after doing all this and you find that there are still American products you can’t avoid. For example, computers and airplanes, fine. Tamper your idealism with some realism and create some pragmatism. Boycott what you can. At least some of their products and economy will suffer, if not all. Where there is always a way. You might not be able to boycott all American products but some we can certainly do without. It also does not mean we are under us like some dim witted people tend to think.
There are many ways to solve these, short term and long term. Many opposed to boycotting, thinking that is a long term action. Boycotting if done seriously, worldwide can cause a temporary shock to the dreading US econs. A temporary shock to an economy can hit the country. Everybody knows that it is not realistic to boycott every US products. However, it is one of many ways to help. Do every effort of helping Palestinian simultaneously. Short-term acts can be boycotting US F&B, donation, petition but no stupid riots. For the long term act, educate everybody the history of the conflicts, the importance of peace, develop our own technology to reduce the dependence to foreigners, urge our children to the value of ‘kenegaraan’ moral, increase trade among Asian countries, study hard so that you can takeover the OIC chairs. One thing for sure it is ashamed to look down at other people’s effort to help eventhough it is a short term one. Save Palestinians!...
